When 12 string guitars are left tuned up to standard tuning the neck starts to dry out and increases tension on the bridge, pulling the top face of the guitar up.
This one had the face pulled and the bridge was starting to come away.
Using high tech kit – an old iron, a wet tee shirt to generatesome steam and a paint scraper, the bridge was removed and now the guitar is in a clamping jig to flatten down the top face before re-attaching the bridge. There is a container with a damp sponge sealed into the body to humidify the tonewood.
