So, you may have seen my recent post on preparing the road worn Epiphone Les Paul.
This is the update now just to complete that project.
The customer wanted a set of Johnston hand-wound pickups fitted to the guitar.
He asked for a bespoke specification which was a neck pickup wound to 8k ohms with an AlNiCo V magnet and a bridge pickup wound to 10k ohms with a ceramic magnet. Both pickups had cream bobbins.
So, here they are installed in the guitar.
My humbuckers come with 4 core conductors so that you can coil split them if you so wish.
These pickups were wound with 42 gauge enamelled copper wire and were wax potted.
Although I have a standard range of pickups offered for sale on the website, I regularly make bespoke pickups for customers and also offer othere types of pickups such as Telecaster pickups, wide range, bass guitar pickups etc.
I would guess that the majority of my pickups are made to a customer’s specification.
So, if you need pickups and don’t see them on the site, just email or call to discuss what you want.
